Is The Removal Of A

Sunday Oct 31, 2010

This is wellput by W.H. Auden: “For the error bred in the bone of eachwoman and each man craves what it cannot have, not universal lovebut to be loved aloneAnd no one exists alone; Hunger allowsno choicewe must love one another or die.” (W.H. Auden,September 1, 1939).
So far then, giving up the notion of absolute truth does notnecessarily lose anything of significance. However, oneimportant part of Wittgenstein’s work, connected with therejection of absolute truth, is the removal of a ‘guide toaction’, which stems from his lack of theory. In refusing to putforward a philosophical theory, Wittgenstein avoids suggestingthat there is a way that you should live your life. This tiesin with the lack of absolute truth, as if some things can beestablished as certain (eg.
moral truths) then you can, fromthem, live your life in a certain way. I do not though thinkthat this is a loss to be concerned with, as it is more realisticto see that as life is so complex, there is likely to be a whole variety of ways of living, none of which are necessarily morevalid than others. They only get their validity in terms of yourown views and notions of justice. This links in with notions of perfection, as without absolutetruth to set out a universal moral code, you have no notion ofmorality outside of your own mind to strive towards. Loss ofabsolute truth might therefore be seen as striking a blow atperfection.

And Awayfrom All His Troubles That

Sunday Oct 31, 2010

I 125)Here we can see that Hamlet had told Ophelia earlier in the scene how deeply he loved her,but here he has changed completely, saying that he had never loved her. With in this quotehe slips in that Ophelia should go to a nunnery. This is his just cause for his maddness. Hetries to get Ophelia to forget him and go to the nunnery so that she can be safe, and awayfrom all his troubles that would soon come.
Here we see his justcause as well as hisforeshadowing for things to come.Like many Princes, Hamlet has been highly educated in Whittenburg, England.
Here he haslearned to think logically and not to act or think on impulse. This is why the reader seesHamlet talkling to himself. In act III we see hamlet debating over ideas and problems outloud. The most obvious one is in his “To Be” soliloquy. To be, or not to be, that is thequestion: Whether’ tis nobler inthe slings and arrows of out-rageous fortune to dieTosleep No more. (Sc.

Once I Hit The Sofa I Felt It

Saturday Oct 30, 2010

Once I hit the sofa I felt it begin. I hated this feeling. Every nerve in my body began to pulse and throb. It was unbearable. My skin had become so sensitive I could feel every fiber in my shirt.
My brain felt the worst of all. I could have sworn upon my mothers grave that I could actually feel my brain begin to bleed onto my spinal cord. It was thought I could truly not bare to imagine.
There was no point in anyone talking to me because I could no longer hear in normal sounds. All I could hear were sounds that resembled radio vibrations. But tonight I started to feel new horrors.
